I stopped by a beach in Naples to do some sun tanning. For a good portion of the afternoon I didn't think I was going to be able to go because of the threatening clouds all around (and the thunder rumbling)- but the storms proved to be very localized and this one ended up north of Naples. |

This storm, however, did cut my tanning short. As the clouds moved into the south sky a bolt of lightening came down and was actually much closer than I would have liked. Time to pack up the beach towel and call it a day! |

The beaches were fantastically different than anything I had ever seen before. Rather than sand, they were mostly made of broken sea shells. It made for great sea shell and sand dollar hunting, but could be tough on the feet! |
