This tree is called a walking tree (real name is
Mangrove?!) And this one in particular located at the Edison and
Ford Winter Estates was just named the second largest in the world!
(Some poor tree in Hawaii just got bumped to third place.)
Edison and Ford had their winter homes next door to each other in Fort Myers for some time and worked closely together on many projects. I took a tour of the homes, Edison's Lab, Ford's garage, and the botanical gardens that make up the grounds. |
