First I would like to introduce you to my maid.... ok, maybe not.. :) Matt was kind enough to make an extra trip so that he could vacuum for my stay.. what more could a gal ask for?! |
![]() |
and, yes- it was very exciting to vacuum... |

The church of San Francisco de Asis in Ranchos de Taos (just south of Taos) where we saw a very interesting painting of Jesus. When the lights were on there was one scene, when the lights were off, different parts of the painting were slightly iridescent and a different scene showed up. Very strange, no explanation and I couldn't figure it out myself. |

This is the front of the church shown above. |

This was the entrance to the sun roof.. otherwise called the top of Matt's apartment. Great space to hang out and catch some sun, watch a storm roll in, or enjoy the stars!! All of which I had the opportunity to do. |

The overall view of the ladder and hammock. A very cozy space to hang out in. |

And now a close-up shot of the hammock. |

I walked through this arcade every day on my way into the middle of town. Location, location, location- Matt lived about a 10 min walk from the center of town. |

Building on the main square in Taos. |

Same square, different building. Notice the dark clouds.. almost EVERY afternoon there would be a storm that would go though town, or near enough to have the thunder rattle the windows.. Frequently the storms would stay off in the distance and get trapped by the mountains creating quite a constant show of lightening and thunder. |

Adding to the town square ambience with a drum. |

Not sure why I took this picture.. my guess is that
the blue in the sign and the top of the building caught my eye in contrast
to the bright sunlight.. just didn't seem to come through on the
photo.. humph.
Unfortunately because of a theft, I lost the majority of my photos from Taos, a roll of 36 was stolen along with my camera in Denver. I will have to swing by Taos again someday to re-record all the great scenes I saw at the Rio Grande Gorge (from above and within) and also the local Earthships where people live off the land in the most interesting shaped dwellings. |
